For most teenagers, sixteen is a magic number, and having a Sweet 16 party is a big dream for many young girls. This event should mark a transition from the children's parties of her youth into a more adult theme, but it still needs to maintain a youthful tone. Here are some suggestions of themes that might make her sixteenth birthday one of the happiest occasions of her life.
One theme that would be popular for an all-girl event would be a spa party. Hire people to come in and provide facials, manicures and pedicures for all her friends. Purchase a soft, fluffy robe for each of the guests and provide goodie bags filled with nail care items, nail polish, lotions and face creams. You can even plan a spa menu with items such as cucumber water, fresh fruit smoothies and light appetizers.
Sometimes when you host a co-ed party, breaking the ice can be difficult. But if everyone comes in costume, then this provides instant conversation starters. You could have a general costume party or stick with a theme, such as TV characters, famous people or even choose a specific decade theme, such as the 1980s or the 1950s. If you have a decade party, this helps you plan out music choices and even the food can complement the decade.
You can also plan a backyard pool party with a beach theme, which might be a lot of fun for a girl born during the summer months. Decorate the patio with twinkle lights and lanterns so that your girl and her friends can keep the party going after the sun sets. For dinner, you can serve up traditional barbecue items or even have a luau menu catered from a local restaurant.
When it comes to dessert options for any of these themes, you can certainly order a fancy cake, but that seems a bit too ordinary for such a momentous occasion. Instead of cake, why not create a spectacular dessert buffet with chocolate pizza as the centerpiece? We've all heard of pizza parties, but a chocolate pizza party is something truly unique. Chocolate Pizza Company creates these divine, gourmet pizzas and tucks them into an actual pizza box for a surprising presentation.
The company's signature chocolate pizza begins with the finest gourmet dark chocolate or milk chocolate blended with freshly made English toffee. This "crust" is then sprinkled with a blend of pecans, almonds and walnuts and drizzled with a bit of fine white chocolate. You can also opt for toppings such as M&Ms, peanut butter candies or even the Happy Birthday pizza, which can be customized with the name of your special girl. In addition to the pizzas, Chocolate Pizza Company sells chocolate-covered potato chips, chocolate-covered pretzels, truffles, almond bark and much more. Their other main specialty is Peanut Butter Wings, which are created by mixing crispy potato chips with creamy peanut butter and dipping this concoction into dark or milk chocolate. Any of these treats can be added to ordered and placed on your Sweet 16 dessert bar.
